Good Days - Bad Days!

Excerpt from Dance Comp review -
“I can’t count how many times I’ve yelled, cursed, and stamped my feet while attempting to do my best during practice. I’ve gotten so angry with myself for not being able to perform the simplest steps that I contemplated chopping off my legs. It feels as though I can’t do anything right and no matter how hard I try, I only do worse. Tension in my chest would build, I couldn’t think straight, and I grew more emotionally compromised. All I wanted to do was scream at the top of my lungs and cry out my frustration

We all have bad days, and this is something you have to accept. There are days when nothing goes right for us, no matter what we do to try to improve it, and we curse the Universe for it, but not every day is going to be full of sunshine and rainbows. If you’re having a bad day, just take it for what it is, accept that it’s out of your hands, and move on. Fighting it and obsessing over it will only frustrate you even further, so don’t force anything. You can tell yourself, “It’s just one of those days.” Tomorrow will be a different story. Live for the moment and drop all expectations. Just breathe, and deal with the cards you’re dealt. Life isn’t easy, and you don’t have to make it harder.”

I just read this in my Dance Comp Review magazine and it really hit home with me. We all experience this at one time or another and it is true – it will pass.  You will get through it and you will accomplish that which you work hard to do.  With all our students working hard on their showcase routines and preparing for comp and even those simply wanting to improve their level of social dancing – we all experience this from time to time.  I want to encourage everyone and remind them we have seen your progress.  You may have forgotten your progress.  But it’s there.  Keep up the great work.  I’m on the side lines – your biggest fan and cheerleader.
